Volk Protective Products grew out of a company called Work Well, founded in 1988 by Dave McLaughlin in Columbus, Ohio. The company focused on McLaughlin's better idea for the foodservice industry: two patented disposable glove dispensing systems ("Dispense Safe") to improve inventory control and create a more efficient and sanitary kitchen work area.
Work Well was acquired in 1995 by Volk Enterprises and the company name was changed to Volk Protective Products.
